デザイナーが最も敬愛するアーティストであるアンディウォーホールに「もし今も生きていたら掛けて貰いたい」という思いから作製されたモデル。
80年代に撮影された彼のポートレイトの上に直接描き上げたデザインを、そのまま具現化をした。
テンプルは芯張りという伝統的な製法を用いながら、芯張り加工後にテンプル側面を“回転ヤスリ”という古い機械を使い手作業で丸みを付けていくという職人の斬新なアイデアを採用。
この手法により通常の芯張り製法では表現できないテンプルの不規則な甲丸感を実現することができている。

This model was created with the designer’s most revered artist, Andy Warhol, in mind, with the wish that “if he were still alive today, he would wear these glasses.”
The design was drawn directly onto a portrait of Warhol taken in the 1980s, and has been recreated exactly as is.
The temples are made using the traditional method of core-filling, but the artisan’s innovative idea is to manually round the sides of the temples after the core-filling process using an old machine called a “rotary file.”
This technique makes it possible to achieve the irregular roundness of the temple top, which is not possible with the standard core-filling method.
