JULIUS TART OPTICALより、「CHINATOWN SPECIAL ORDER」が本日より販売開始。
JULIUS TART OPTICALが創業した当時のニューヨークには、さまざまな人種のコミュニティが存在し、チャイナタウンの眼鏡店にもフレームを卸していました。
1969年秋、ジュリアス・タート氏に「中国人（アジア人）も掛けられる鼻幅のフレームが欲しい」との打診があり、誕生したのが「CHINATOWN SPECIAL ORDER」です。
鼻幅を24mmに設定し、独立型のノーズパッドを加えた、特徴的な仕様のモデルです。
今回の復刻では、2本のピンで構成されたリターンアーム式のノーズパッドを採用。
山折りのエルボーを設けることで、鼻幅の調整がしやすい構造となっています。
ノーズパッドは当時のシェイプを再現したヴィンテージ感のあるデザインで、フレームと同じアセテートを使用。
復刻第一弾は、すべてゴールドメッキのパーツで仕上げられています。
カラーは、Olive Green Sasa、Demi Amber、 Blackの3色をご用意しております。
サイズは46︎24のワンサイズ展開です。

JULIUS TART OPTICAL presents the “CHINATOWN SPECIAL ORDER,” available starting today.
When JULIUS TART OPTICAL was founded, New York was home to communities of many different ethnic backgrounds, and the company supplied frames to optical shops in Chinatown as well.
In the fall of 1969, Julius Tart received a request for a frame with a bridge width that would also accommodate Chinese (Asian) customers. This led to the creation of the “CHINATOWN SPECIAL ORDER.”
The model was designed with a 24mm bridge and distinctive separate nose pads.
For this reissue, the nose pads feature return arms constructed with two pins. The folded elbows allow for easier adjustment of the bridge fit.
The vintage-inspired nose pads recreate the shape of those used at the time and are made from the same acetate as the frame.
For this first reissue, all metal parts are finished in gold plating.
Available in three colors: Olive Green Sasa, Demi Amber, and Black.
